Job Description:
We are looking for a dedicated Farm Hand to join our team in Hanover, NH at Morton Farm. As a Farm Hand, you will work closely with our Farm Manager to ensure the proper care of our horses and maintenance of our facilities. You'll need to have a positive, team-oriented attitude, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. Previous experience working with horses is required. This is a temporary part-time position with up to 30 hours per week, with one weekend day required.
Responsibilities:
Feeding and haying horses
Cleaning stalls and barn floors
Providing water to all paddocks and stalls
Turning horses out to pasture and bringing them in
Sweeping and cleaning areas at Morton Farm as instructed
Assisting with project work such as pasture and trail maintenance
Demonstrating a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness
Qualifications:
Positive, team oriented attitude.
Ability to work independently.
Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality and care.
Ability to operate standard transmission vehicles, small equipment and tools, and tractors as needed.
Must be able to work in all types of weather, including extreme heat and cold.
Must be able to list/pull/push up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods of time.
Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, reach overhead and below.
Ability to work effectively in an environment with exposure to dirt, dust, pollen, and animal hair/feathers.
Previous experience working with horses.
