Job Description:
At UP Vertical Farms, we are on a mission to become one of the largest and most sustainable indoor vertical farm producers of baby leafy greens by 2024. Our tech-driven vertical farm prioritizes people and the planet, supporting the local economy by delivering the safest, most nutritious, and best-tasting salad greens to the market. To achieve our goals, we are seeking dedicated and hardworking Greenhouse Workers to join our team.
Responsibilities:
Execute seeding operations according to instructions.
Move rafts and leafy greens within the greenhouse, ensuring proper placement.
Clean and sanitize rooms, structures, and machinery.
Perform physical tasks such as watering, weeding, pruning, and repairing non-complex irrigation system issues.
Operate machinery and equipment, including seeders, harvesters, and washers.
Move heavy materials using machinery.
Maintain optimal inventory levels for greenhouse materials and equipment.
Keep working areas and visiting areas clean.
Adhere to safety and hygiene procedures throughout the greenhouse, warehouse, and lunchroom.
Follow company policies and procedures.
Requirements:
Good command of English is essential.
Must be in good physical health condition to handle repetitive tasks and stand for long periods.
Legally entitled to work in Canada upon application.
Work Schedule:
8-hour shift.
Day or night shift.
Tuesday to Saturday or Saturday to Thursday (subject to change with advance notice).
Location: Pitt Meadows, BC - Applicants must reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work.
