Position: Equine and Animal Care Specialist

Location: Orange, NSW - Bradgate Park

About Us:

Bradgate Park is a small private, family-owned property situated in the scenic town of Orange, NSW. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as an Equine and Animal Care Specialist. This unique role involves caring for horses of all ages, from foals to elderly horses, with the opportunity to expand into the care of dogs, cats, birds, goats, and cattle for the right applicant. Experience isn't essential, but a genuine love for animals is a must. Weekend and some public holiday work will be required.

Responsibilities:

  • Handling horses of all ages, including foals to elderly horses.

  • Feeding, bathing, grooming, rugging, and routine health care.

  • Cleaning stables, yards, and maintaining a clean and organized environment.

  • Administering medications and basic first aid.

  • Assisting the farrier and veterinarian as needed.

  • Potential expansion into the care of other animals.

  • Weekend and occasional public holiday work required.

Requirements:

  • Availability to work one to two weekends a month.

  • Additional weekdays available for casual/part-time roles.

  • Comfortable handling horses of all sizes, temperaments, and ages.

  • Basic knowledge of horse health care, common diseases, and first aid.

  • Strong work ethic, self-motivated, and able to handle fluctuating workloads.

  • Attention to detail with a focus on animal health and hygiene.

  • Punctual, reliable, and able to work effectively in a close-knit team.

  • Friendly, energetic, and a positive team player.

  • Driver's license and own transport; experience driving a float is desirable.

  • Well above award wage starting at $28/hr, increasing with experience.
